Shopify Redirect CSV Template and Free Checker

MoveLedger accepts Shopify's Redirect from and Redirect to column names. Review an exported or prepared map locally before importing changes into your store.

Prepare the two columns
Redirect from is the old location. Redirect to is the replacement. Replace every sample path with a real, reviewed destination. Save a copy of your existing exported redirects before making changes.
The template is an example, not a recommendation to redirect an unrelated product to another item. Ask whether the destination meets the visitor's original intent. A moved or renamed equivalent product is a different decision from a permanently discontinued product.
Review the CSV before import
- Download the template or export your current redirect list.
- Open the free checker and paste or select your CSV.
- Optionally supply your old URL inventory to identify entries without source rules.
- Optionally supply your new URL inventory to flag terminal destinations absent from that list.
- Resolve conflicting targets and loops. Review chains and duplicate sources.
- Keep the findings report with the final CSV.
Example: a collection renamed twice
/collections/summer-2025 → /collections/summer /collections/summer → /collections/all-summer
The first old path now passes through an extra redirect. If the final collection is the correct replacement, review whether both sources should point directly to it. Test actual store behavior after applying the change.
Shopify rules still apply
A structurally valid file does not guarantee that Shopify will apply every redirect. Shopify documents restrictions on which paths can be redirected and explains that redirects work from broken URLs; an existing working page can prevent a redirect from taking effect. Follow the current Shopify redirect documentation for eligibility, reserved paths, import steps, and limits.
After import
Open representative old URLs and verify the resulting pages. For a larger migration, crawl the full old URL inventory and record response codes and final URLs. Review internal links so they point to current destinations rather than relying on redirects.
